Joyce Thompson, CPA
Joyce graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1993 with a B.S. degree in accounting. After graduation, Joyce worked in public accounting for five years and became a CPA in 1996. She left public accounting in 1999 and worked in the private sector for over 10 years in various industries such as retail, healthcare, manufacturing and finance. She most recently has been a financial consultant for several area small businesses. She is a certified QuickBooks user and is proficient in many other accounting software packages as well. Joyce is a member of the AICPA and MACPA as well as the treasurer of a local women’s group in her hometown that is dedicated to providing families in need with holiday meals and gifts through the local food bank. Joyce was born in Rochester, New York and moved to Maryland while attending grammar school. She currently lives in Mt. Airy with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading, music, scarp-booking and socializing with friends and family. |
